A New Kind of Exhaustion

Today was loaded with fun and adventure. At 7:00, my youngest sister and her darling daughter woke us up (apparently, we'd slept far too late for their liking). Soon thereafter ,we left for the state fair. I only wish I'd worn a pedometer, as we traversed every nook and cranny of the grounds in search of entertainment, food, adventure, and cool breeze. We had fun, although the walking certainly took its toll on my feet (why can't I ever find a decent pair of tennis shoes?)

Immediately after departing fro the fair grounds, we headed to the outlet mall, about 45 minutes outside of the cities. I was looking forward to some relaxed shopping, but my sisters had a somewhat singular purpose: a pair of pink Nike Shox, which, unfortunately, still alludes them. After a brief and rather unproductive stint at the Old Navy Outlet (which seemed no different from a regular Old Navy, except it offered less clothing, we were back on the road.

The saving grace of this expedition? Shortly before getting back on the highway, we stopped at a small Antique store, where James discovered a delightful lamp that is now gracing a spot on my vanity.

The time for sleep is soon, I am certain. Thank goodness for the 3-day week ahead (not really working tomorrow, Friday off, blessed be).
